I apologize for the teaser. Really.
I have reasons for withholding details until the plane lifts off, so I am keeping the specifics tight. Let me explain though. I am giddy. Downright giddy. While there are several flights I’m eager about, one stands out, for better or for worse.
The Route
We just finished a month-long family tour of Europe. Fun? Yes. Exhausting? Also yes.
People love genuine review trips. That is my plan. I leave next week. Full details drop mid-week. Less than a week away. I will share live updates, standard procedure, followed by a complete trip report when I return home.
This trip combines two things. A long-planned cruise. A review-trip routing to the start and end points.
Earlier this year I sailed the Ritz-Carlton Yacht collection. It was my first cruise since I was a kid. I liked it. It made me want to book more, especially given the sector’s recent growth.
Soon we are taking a cruise in Europe. You can guess which line. Ford is flying direct. I am taking the long way around, leaving earlier and staying later.
Hints at the Itinerary
I will reveal the full routing in the coming days. I’ll explain why too. For now, here are some breadcrumbs.
The Outbound
- I’m crossing the Atlantic on a European carrier’s business class product. I’ve flown this airline and seat type, but never on this specific aircraft. I’m curious about the updated soft product.
- Then I’m flying the “weird” airline. The one that has obsessed me for years. This is the highlight.
- Next comes a controversial first class product. I doubt the seat is the star, but the ground experience might be legendary. I wouldn’t be surprised if their lounge tops global rankings.
The Return
- A national carrier that has allegedly improved significantly since I last flew it.
- One of the most discussed new startup airlines. I have to see if it delivers.
- Finally, the new business class product from a U.S. carrier. Untested by me.
The Unknown
I look forward to the cruise. But the flights matter more to me.
Which excite me the most? Not the luxury ones. The unknowns.
These airlines vary wildly in quality. That uncertainty is the point. I simply don’t know what will happen. One flight, in particular, keeps me up at night with anticipation.
Why take the risk? Why not fly direct?
Because travel without mystery is just transportation.
I will be more strategic with words as we get closer. Stay tuned. Thanks for your patience.
“Sorry for teasing. But I am so excited, I have to say something.”
Wait until you see what’s coming.
